light rain in to lake port. you can see a glancing blow with this incoming system. most of the energy to oregon and washington. still deflecting most of the energy to the north. not completely out of the picture. if you are in the north bay, sonoma, mend seen know and lake counties youly see a few showers off and on. for the rest of the bay area we will see a chance of rain as the upper low scoots in during the day offi day. stay tuned to jeff and cristina this week. it looks like this system could be on the strong side in terms of the wind and heavier rain coming in. the future cast shows you a few stray showers in the north bay off and on in to tuesday afternoon. on the flip side, areas south of san jose may warm close to 70. morgan hill and gilroy by the middle of the week. warmup for the south bay approaching wednesday. tomorrow we will see low to mid-60s from san jose south. and in to the north bay highs in the low 60s, close to 60 in san francisco and 64 in oakland. the first half of the week is mainly dry. the exception is northern sonoma county. the clouds nil fill in and rain

the production of clean energy, which promises to reduce the utilization of fossil fuels for power generation. and we continue to invest in potential breakthrough technologies that could further remove carbon from our atmosphere. but we haven't done as much as we need to. so what i'm going to be doing over the next several weeks, next several months, is having a conversation, a wide-ranking conversation with scientists, engineers, and elected officials to find out what more can we do to make short-term progress in reducing carbons. and then, you know, working through an education process that i think is necessary, a discussion, a conversation, across the country about what realistically can we do long term to make sure that this is not something we're passing on to future generations that's going to be very expensive and very painful to deal with. i don't know what either democrats or republicans are prepared to do at this point. because this is one of those issues that's not just a partisan issue. i also think there are regional differences. there's no doubt that for us to take on climate ch
energy in the jet stream that could be good enough to even fire off some thunderstorms. and it's not only our storm system we're tracking out here for friday, but another storm system on sunday that will also be lining up. and really, the huge thing about these two storm systems in three days is they'll come really in quick succession. so we can't even rule out the potential here of possibly some flooding concerns, especially in the higher elevations of the north bay, and also for the santa cruz mountains. temperatures are going to start to go down. we'll find some widespread 60s and 70s for the east and the south bay. cooling will gradually start on thursday. then as we head throughout friday, that's when we look for the rain to begin to arrive. so tomorrow morning, we'll have the cloud cover with us. by the evening hours, a few spotty showers, nothing huge. but then as we head into friday morning, this is when that accumulating rain will start from the north bay all the way down to the south bay. and it looks like we're in for a wet one on friday. chances of rain stays all the way throu
put out by an independent energy consultant out of oregon. robert mccullough of mccullough research alleges two local refineries here in the bay area were producing gasoline even though they were supposedly shut down for maintenance, shutdowns that were blamed in part from dramatic price spikes at the pumps. emission levels went back up to normal to saying gasoline was being produced again. similar situation to chevron's refinery in richmond. emission data suggests they never shut down at all. >> bottom line in all of this is gasoline and oil isn't covered by any federal agency. not like electricity, natural gas, coal. nobody is watching that beach. >> it appears there could be some gaming. we don't know. that's why we're having the hearing. but three companies control 54%, we don't have a monopoly but certainly an oligarchy. should the state be stepping in? >> this industry's been invested many, many times by government agencies over the past 20 years. usually when we see market disruptions and price changes, people have questions why. every single one of those investigations has s
